There are over 300 islands in Fiji; Taveuni is the third-largest. It derives its magical atmosphere from its pristine beauty, lush landscapes, hidden lakes & waterfalls, mountains, black & white beaches and from the genuine warmth of its people.
This island, a refuge for individualists, has become the home of German Lawyer Jochen Kiess and his family who feel a deep love and respect for Fiji. Maravu Resort is tucked amongst 56 acres of coconut groves, lush jungle gardens, tropical rainforest and a golden sandy beach. Maravu is spectacular in its setting and you will share it with a maximum of only 30 people. Our eager staff will meet you at Taveuni airport just after your 75-minute flight from the International Airport in Nadi and only 5 minutes later the Maravu magic begins. The legend of Lake Tagimaucia long ago cast its spell on Taveuni. This Mountain Lake is tucked away a thousand meters above sea level in the heart of the island and is named after a rare plant that grows only in the vicinity of the lake. It can be found climbing up around the trunks of the rain forest trees, and the story of how it first came into being goes like this ...
