Fiji Travel InformationWe are delighted that you are considering staying with us at Maravu Plantation Resort. We are honored by every guest with whom we are allowed to share our hospitality. Until we meet, here are a few details that may make planning your trip a little easier.
Maravu Plantation Resort is located on beautiful Taveuni, one of Fiji's small group of northern islands. Fiji enjoys a mild tropical climate year round. If you want to reduce the chance of rain and storms, however, your best bet will be to come and see us during our "winter," which is May through October. In general, temperatures run no higher than 80°F to 86°F, and lows dip no further than 70°F to 75°F.
Being in the tropics, you'll want to bring insect repellent and plenty of sunscreen! We recommend a minimum of 30 SPF, since chances are you'll be in the sun quite a bit while you're here, and we are told our sun is "hotter than it feels!" Of course, since we are full-service resort, you can also pick up these items here at Maravu Plantation Resort.
Also to keep in mind when packing: Taveuni is a conservative island in terms of dress. When visiting town, it's considered appropriate and respectful to wear more than just a bikini or swim trunks. Learning how to wear a Fijian Seva (wrap skirt) is a great way to celebrate local culture!
We look forward to having you as our guests. Don't hesitate to contact us with any question you may have. English is the official language of Fiji, so we'll always give you clear and easy-to-understand answers. We look forward to seeing you, and until we're face to face, we send you a cheerful, Bula!
